is the Brain-child of a teacher couple

There is only one school, that spreads light of literacy and education at Sunadia Island. We all know that Sunadia is an isolated Island/habitat from main Moheshkhali. The people, who live here, came to inhabit about 180 years ago. Once, there were quite a little number of people live at the Island, but at present the number people are about 3,000 and the number of voters are around 800 and it is included with the Kutubjum Union. The people live at Sunadia, have come from main Moheshkhali, Teknaf, Myanmar, Cox`sbazar and other nearby areas. They all came here for the hope of betterment and in search of livelihood.  Most of the people live on fishing. There are mainly two villages and they are named as; Purba para and Poschim para. The distance between the two para is about 3 kilometers. The school is at the Purba para and the present school building was constructed by  Bangladesh Red Crescent Society as a Cyclone Center and the school doesn’t have it’s own building, till today. The school has its own land and it is about 0.40 decimal. There is a one-storied building on the school land, but the structure is rejected now. There is no school at the Poschim para. The name of the school is Sunadia Government Primary School, recently nationalized and it was started as a non-government primary school in 1988. The school has about 260 students studying now, their next study lives is uncertain at all. This is the light-house of education in the midst of the bay of Bengle. We can call the school as a Brain-Child of the four teachers; namely 1. Mr. Shachiram Dash, 2. Ms Shuva Rani Dash, 3. S M Sajedul Hoque and 4. Mr. Uddha Kumer Jal Dash. Among the four teachers, Ms Shuva Rani is still has been working at the school. Mr. Shachiram Dash had gone on retirement on dated 20/10/2010. In fact, the school has been kept alive by the couple Mr. Shachiram and Ms Shuva Rani. Though Mr. Shachiran is now retired, he stays there at Sunadia and helps her wife doing everything of the school. The other two teachers, named 1.S M Sajedul Hoque and 2. Uddha Kumer Jal Dash; resigned from the school on 01/01/1988, last. There are four teachers have been working at the school, but the remaining three teachers don’t get salary for their recruit ment procedural criticality. Perhaps, they are to suffer much more time for having their regular salaries and allowances. Ms. Shuva Rani leads the school and manage everything of the school well with the help of her husband Mr. Shachiram. The three teachers, who are not getting salaries, aren’t regular and active enough at the school. We all should support the school to be continued and the authorities should give due attention to it. It needs a building of it’s own soon. If possible there should have to take an active initiative establishing another government primary school at the Poschim para. The children of Poschim para, all are being deprived of education. It is expected that once Sunadia might be turn into a land of gold, if the proposed Deep Sea-Port would start to work. Then the importance of literacy and education would be felt by the locality. So, the locality should be made aware of being educated and civilized, also. If they can`t be so, they would be legged behind in future and suffer much. Their job market would be taken away by the foreigners from Japan, China,Thailand, Thai-One, Hong Kong, Korea etc. There are would be Sea-Port related activities, Tourism, Navigation and so on. Therefore, we should enrich and well established the Sunadia Government Primary School.
