Adhinath GPS of Moheshkhali: A School named after a famous Shrine

Adhinath GPS and Teachers
Dated: 07/12/2014
Adhinath Government Primary School is well-known to all, who knows Moheshkhali and comes to visit here. We all know that there is a famous Shrine of Hindu Religion believer here at Moheshkhali of Coxsbazar. This is one of the temples, most popular throughout the Indian sub-continent. A large number of Hindus as well as visitors of different religion believers come to visit here and bow their deep respect, honor,  say prayer etc here. Every year there is hosted a fair named `Shiva Chaturdoshi Mela’ known as `Adhinath Mela’ and thousands of devotees and general people gather here to show their respect and pray, specially. The fair turns into a huge gathering and the visitors can buy various attractive and rare things. The visitors enjoy the surrounding scenes of the prayer hall and the special Naval Jetty of it, which was built with the assistance of Nepalese Government.  The Adhinath Temple was built at the top of Moheshkhali Moinak Valley. Moheshkhali is named after the Hindu God Moheshar, whose another name is Shiva. Also it’s named as Adhinath and the Shrine is named after the God Shiva. An aristocratic landlord, late Nur Mohammad Sikder of Chuta Moheshkhali Union had a famous cow, which used to give milk daily by itself without  a calf. The cow used to go to the valley and keep her standing at the Temple spot everyday. There she gived milk automatically and it was seen by the cowboy who was appointed by the famous land lord late Sikder. One night, he saw a dream that he had to establish a Hindu temple and it would be named Adhinath on the Moinak Valley. I have mentioned here a brief history of the Adhinath Temple, while writing on Adhinath Government Primary School and it`s teachers as well as it`s performances; because there is a close relationship between the school and the temple as they are named as same. The school has become famous for being near by the temple and as the name is same one.  High Profile visitors of the Ministry of the Primary and Mass Education and the Directorate of Primary Education, who come to Cox`sbazar and Moheshkhali, they would like to visit the Adhinath Government Primary School, usually, while they were visiting the Temple. Ms. Purnima Rani Dey is the head teacher of the school. The school has a strong team of teachers and they have been working hard, having utmost sincerity. The name of the other working teachers are; 1. Monju Rani Das, 2. Sajeda Yeasmin, 3. Tapan Kanti Dey, 4. Pijush Paul, 5. Shambhu Charan Dey, 6. Anwara Begum and 7. Md Hefajuddin. Among the teachers Mr. Tapan Kanti Dey is my focus of the topic today. He is a good teacher as well as highly qualified one. He is an M.sc in Botany from Chittagong Government College. He had also completed his professional teaching course, C-in-ed. He is a subject trainer for teachers, too. His subject is Mathematics. He can teach the students well, can train the teachers with expertise in almost all subjects taught at primary school level. He knows a lot about many subjects; like primary curriculum, characteristics of subjects taught at primary schools, supplementary reading materials, teaching materials, new concepts and so on, but he is not good at technology based teaching-learning methods. He is accused to be, not being active and utilizing his utmost honesty in performing his duties and responsibilities at the school. The head teacher of the school Ms. Purnima Rani  Dey should be more adept in Maintaining school records and registers, having more managerial capacity and leadership skills. She must master the art of leading and controlling her teachers with iron-handedly and think out how to make the school works well. In the very beginning of the coming year, she should make a SMART plan and act accordingly. The school, at which has a teacher like Tapan Kanti Dey, but it can’t speak; isn’t acceptable.
