I would like to narrate a story tonight about an ancient primary school teacher, who is on PRL now. He is a teacher for life long. Wherever he goes, he is addressed as a teacher. He seems to be a teacher walking on, while he walks. Everybody, who knows him addresses him as `Sir’, as if he taught them all. People from all works of lives, love and respect him at Moheshkhali. He is Mr. Md Shafiul Islam, who had passed his life in teaching primary school students for long 36 years. He worked at such a school, which is situated at the sea-side village named Mudhirchara of Moheshkhali. Most of the villagers live on fishing here and their children are not much eager to go to school to be literate and educated. They, rather like to go for fishing with their parents. Late Md Hashem Sikder, then the chairman of Gurakghata Union Porishad; established the school(Mudhirchara) in 1979 at that village, thinking of back warded locality of fishermen turn them into educated and cultured. Late Sikder was the father of former upazila chairman of Moheshkhali Mr. Abu Boker Siddique and Present Pourasava Mayor Mr. Alhaj Moksud Mia. I can say here that his dream to make the fishermen`s villagers children civilized and educated has come fully true now. Mr, Shafiul Islam started working as a teacher, along with three others as a teacher at Mudhirchara non-government Primary school in 1979. The school was nationalized in 1986 and after 5 years, the four working teachers were enlisted as government servant in 1991. Now it’s a full government school named Mudhirchara Government Primary School. Mr. Islam`s three other colleagues were 1. Late Md Ilias, 2. Moulavi Ikram and 3. Mohammad Feroj. Among them, Mr.Feroj has been working as a teacher of the school still now. Md Ilias died about 10 years ago. Moulavi Ikram left the service/treachery about fifteen years ago. I am telling about the tale on Mr. Shafiul Islam, who passed his whole of service life at the Mudhirchara Government Primary School. On 31<sup>st</sup> December, 2013 he went on PRL from his teaching profession. Now, he passes his time keeping himself busy with various family related activities. Sometimes, he helps the UEO Office in needs of it, particularly counting and packaging of Exam Question Papers of Terminal and Annual Examinations of the Moheshkhali upazila primary schools. He is a man of cold brain and he can accommodate all teachers, both retired as well as serving and keep pace with all local elites of the upazila. Everybody likes him as a veteran personality and as a teacher on PLR. He studied at Alia Madrasha named Hashemia Alia Madrasha of Cox`sbazar and passed FM in 1972 and later he completed his C-in-ed course. He is a rare character as a teacher, he has a lot of patience and tolerance and he also has broadness of mind. He never becomes rowdy and gets angry. He hates none, but loves all and he is the friend of everybody. Live long my beloved, Mr. Islam.
